Timeline of TagOut
Tagout Technique LLC was built on a lifelong passion for hunting and a deep respect for the land. Our founder, Derek Borkholder, began hunting as a boy alongside his father, and by 18, he was managing their family farm to improve the deer hunting experience. In 2018, after two longtime friends reconnected, Tagout Technique was born. Their mission is simple and sincere: to help others succeed in the field through honest guidance, expert land management, and a supportive hunting community.
When someone asks, “Did you tag out?” — we want our sportsmen’s answer to be a resounding “Yes.”
Our founder discovers his passion for hunting while learning from his father, a formative time that instilled values of patience, responsibility, and stewardship.
At 18, our founder begins hands-on land management, working with his family to improve their farm and learning how thoughtful habitat design enhances hunting success.
After two longtime friends reconnected, a new land management business was launched, driven by shared values and a big vision.
During a kitchen-table brainstorm, the name Tagout Technique LLC is born, inspired by a phrase that reflects accomplishment, pride, and purpose.
The business expands from food plots into full-scale habitat improvements, property planning, and strategic land management tailored to each client.
