Description
The Mid-Season Sugar Pear produces medium to large fruit with dark yellow, russeted skin and a distinctive long, gourd-shaped neck. The fruit is aromatic, juicy, firm, and smooth-textured, with white flesh and a rich flavor that deer will appreciate. The tree itself is upright, hardy, and highly productive, ripening in early to mid-October. Suitable for USDA zones 4 through 9. For optimal pollination, we recommend planting pears in groups that include both a mid-season and a late-season variety. Trees are typically 4 to 5 feet tall at planting.
